1. Acceptance and Scope
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Void Deck mobile application, legal pages, support pages, backend services, community features, local-information features, notifications, subscription entitlement systems, moderation systems, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines, and any in-app rules, feature notices, subscription disclosures, or safety notices that apply to the feature you use.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, business, government body, school, association, household, or another person, you represent that you have authority to bind that party to these Terms and that you are responsible for their use of the Service.
These Terms are intended to allocate responsibility clearly. You are responsible for your account, content, decisions, conduct, device settings, permissions, subscription choices, third-party interactions, and compliance with law. Void Deck provides the Service on the limited basis described in these Terms and does not assume duties that are not expressly stated here or required by non-waivable law.
2. Eligibility and Territory
- You must be at least 13 years old and must meet any higher minimum age required by your country, Apple, Google, App Store rules, or applicable law.
- If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms.
- You must not use the Service if your account has been suspended or terminated, unless we expressly authorise reinstatement.
- The Service is designed primarily for users in Singapore. If you access it from elsewhere, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for complying with local law.
- You must not use the Service if doing so would violate sanctions, export controls, court orders, platform rules, employment obligations, confidentiality obligations, or any law that applies to you.
3. Accounts, Sign-In, and Verification
- Access to certain features may require an account and sign-in through supported identity providers such as Apple or Google.
- Deck posting, commenting, profile creation, account restoration, report handling, premium entitlement syncing, or other account actions may require phone verification, identity-provider verification, device verification, or other trust and safety checks.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account, device, phone number, identity provider, or credentials, except to the extent caused by our own breach of applicable law or express obligations.
- You must provide accurate information where required and keep your account information reasonably current.
- You may not impersonate any person or entity, or create misleading accounts.
- We may limit, link, or take action against multiple related accounts where reasonably necessary to address abuse, manipulation, ban evasion, or security issues.
- You must promptly tell us if you believe your account has been compromised or used without permission.
- You must not sell, rent, transfer, share, or provide access to your account in a way that creates risk, misleads others, bypasses restrictions, or violates these Terms.
4. Nature of the Service
Void Deck includes user-generated content, social features, automated or system-assisted community activity, local-information features, weather and dengue information, transit information, traffic camera access, Makan place discovery, journey planning, lottery result convenience displays, notifications, profile features, and third-party data integrations. The Service may display content submitted by users, content generated or assisted by automated systems, content from public or third-party sources, and information processed by our backend systems, including systems hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and moderation or safety services that may use Microsoft Azure.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Void Deck is not responsible for independently verifying every statement, review, listing, location, route, place detail, weather alert, transit alert, lottery result, comment, report, profile field, AI output, or external data point available through the Service. You must exercise your own judgment and verify important information with official sources.
User content reflects the views and responsibility of the relevant users, not Void Deck. We may moderate, rank, label, limit, promote, demote, hide, queue, review, or remove content, but we do not guarantee that all problematic content will be detected, reviewed, or removed before it is seen by others.
5. Your Content and Licence to Operate the Service
You retain ownership of content you submit, upload, publish, or otherwise make available through the Service ("User Content"), subject to the rights you grant below.
- You grant Void Deck a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to host, store, cache, reproduce, display, publish, communicate, transmit, distribute, index, adapt, crop, resize, compress, format, translate, moderate, analyze, review, and otherwise use your User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, support, market, and provide the Service.
- This licence includes the right to use service providers and technical subprocessors acting on our behalf.
- The licence includes the right to use your User Content for moderation, safety, reporting, audit, ranking, search, notifications, previews, account data exports, support, legal compliance, abuse prevention, and product reliability.
- The licence generally ends within a commercially reasonable time after User Content is deleted from the Service, except to the extent residual copies persist in backups, logs, moderation records, safety records, audit records, abuse-prevention systems, reports, legal holds, shared or quoted contexts, cached views, search indexes, or where retention is otherwise reasonably necessary or legally required.
- If you upload images or other media, you represent that you have the necessary rights, permissions, and consents to do so and that the upload does not violate applicable law, privacy rights, publicity rights, copyright, trademark, confidentiality duties, platform rules, or third-party rights.
- You are solely responsible for the truthfulness, legality, reliability, appropriateness, and consequences of your User Content.
6. Rules of Conduct
You agree not to misuse the Service. Without limiting our Community Guidelines, you must not:
- Post unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, misleading, harassing, hateful, abusive, sexually exploitative, or otherwise prohibited content
- Use the Service to threaten, stalk, dox, impersonate, scam, or exploit any person
- Interfere with the normal operation, security, moderation, or integrity of the Service
- Attempt to reverse engineer, extract source code from, or bypass technical restrictions of the app except where non-waivable law permits it
- Use bots, scripts, crawlers, or other automated means to access, scrape, collect, or manipulate the Service without our prior written permission
- Harvest or attempt to infer personal data about other users
- Circumvent bans, blocks, subscription controls, account restrictions, rate limits, or trust and safety measures
- Use the Service for unauthorised advertising, commercial solicitation, spam, or vote manipulation
- Upload malware, harmful code, or content designed to disrupt systems or deceive users
- Use the Service to obtain, publish, or infer confidential, private, personal, protected, or non-public information about any person
- Misuse public agency names, official-looking language, emergency language, or official data in a way that could mislead users
- Use the Service for emergency dispatch, professional reliance, financial decisions, medical decisions, legal advice, investment advice, gambling strategy, or other high-risk uses
- Submit false reports, coordinated reports, retaliatory reports, or reports intended to harass, silence, or manipulate another user
7. Moderation, Safety, and Enforcement
- We may use automated tools, AI-assisted review, human review, banned-word checks, image safety tools, user reports, trust signals, rate limits, heuristics, audit logs, and other signals to moderate content and accounts.
- We may approve, reject, hold for review, label, reduce visibility, restrict, hide, remove, restore, edit metadata for, or otherwise process content where we reasonably consider it appropriate.
- We may warn, limit, restrict, suspend, ban, terminate, shadow-limit, remove privileges, reduce Deck Score, adjust account tier, disable Premium personalization, remove profile media, prevent posting or commenting, or take other action where we reasonably consider it appropriate for safety, policy enforcement, operational integrity, legal compliance, or platform quality.
- We are not required to follow a fixed enforcement sequence. We may skip warnings or intermediate steps for severe, repeated, risky, unlawful, or bad-faith conduct.
- We are not required to provide advance notice, a detailed explanation, evidence, internal moderation criteria, model outputs, reviewer notes, or an appeals process in every case, although we may do so in our discretion or where required by law.
- We may preserve or disclose relevant records where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with applicable law.
- Moderation tools and reviewers can make mistakes. We may correct, reverse, maintain, or modify decisions at our discretion, subject to applicable law.
8. Location-Based and Third-Party Features
Parts of the Service rely on third-party services, public sources, device permissions, and location-dependent features, including maps, nearby places, route planning, traffic cameras, bus arrivals, MRT alerts, weather, dengue clusters, place photos, reviews, opening hours, phone numbers, websites, lottery results, and other local-information services. By using those features, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Results may depend on third-party data, provider availability, network quality, your device settings, or your granted permissions
- Location-based results may be approximate, delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate
- Third-party terms and privacy policies may apply to portions of those features
- We may change, suspend, or remove such features at any time
- You are responsible for checking official sources before acting on time-sensitive, safety-sensitive, legal, financial, public-health, travel, transit, weather, or lottery information
9. Community and Information Disclaimers
- Posts, comments, ratings, and other user content are for general informational or community discussion purposes only.
- Transit, weather, location, dengue, public-health, traffic, journey-planning, place, review, opening-hours, and route information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate.
- Lottery-related information, if displayed, is for convenience only. Official operator results and official notices prevail.
- Deck Score, tiers, trending selections, notifications, rankings, moderation status, and popularity signals are internal product signals. They are not endorsements, credentials, professional assessments, or guarantees of quality.
- The Service is not intended for emergency, mission-critical, medical, legal, financial, or other professional-reliance use.
Void Deck is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or acting on behalf of third-party data providers or public agencies unless we expressly say so.
10. Subscriptions, Premium Features, and Billing
- Certain features may require a paid subscription or other purchase.
- For iOS users, subscriptions and in-app purchases are generally billed and managed by Apple under Apple's terms, billing policies, and refund processes.
- You are responsible for reviewing the applicable pricing, renewal terms, and cancellation flow presented by Apple before purchase.
- Unless otherwise required by law or Apple policy, payments are non-refundable once processed.
- Current Premium features may include profile photos, profile banners, accent colors, and other profile personalization features described in the app. Premium does not guarantee removal of all ads, all limits, all moderation, all third-party processing, all future feature changes, or all service interruptions unless expressly stated in the purchase flow.
- Premium media and personalization remain subject to image moderation, content rules, file limits, rate limits, technical limits, and removal if your subscription lapses, is revoked, cannot be verified, or your account is restricted.
- We may change subscription features, packaging, eligibility, limits, trial availability, or pricing from time to time. Any future pricing change will apply in accordance with Apple's rules and your applicable billing cycle.
- Deleting your Void Deck account, uninstalling the app, disabling notifications, losing access to your account, or being suspended from Deck does not automatically cancel Apple billing. You must cancel through Apple.
11. Intellectual Property
- The Service, including our software, visual design, layout, brand elements, text, graphics, and other content we provide (excluding User Content), is protected by intellectual property and other applicable laws.
- Except as expressly allowed by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our proprietary materials.
- Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.
- You must not use the Void Deck name, logo, screenshots, branding, interface, or community content in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, partnership, official status, or approval without our prior written permission.
12. Copyright and Complaint Notices
If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, please send a complaint to info@voiddeckapp.com with enough detail for us to review the issue, including your contact information, the material at issue, where it appears, the basis of your claim, evidence of your rights, and any supporting information reasonably necessary for us to investigate. We may request more information before taking action. False, abusive, incomplete, or bad-faith complaints may be rejected and may result in action against the complainant where appropriate.
13. Suspension, Termination, and Service Changes
- We may modify, suspend, discontinue, replace, rename, remove, restrict, or limit any part of the Service at any time, including categories, feeds, notifications, saved items, bots, premium features, local-information features, APIs, moderation tools, or legal pages.
- We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk for users or the Service, misused reports, violated law, attempted to bypass limits, or where necessary for legal, operational, safety, or security reasons.
- If your account is terminated, rights granted to you to use the Service will cease immediately, but provisions intended by their nature to survive will remain in effect.
- We may retain data associated with terminated or restricted accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, compliance, dispute resolution, abuse prevention, or legal recordkeeping.
- We are not liable for loss of access to content, account history, profile features, followers, saved items, score, subscription-linked personalization, or other app state caused by lawful enforcement, technical limits, account deletion, provider issues, or service changes.
14. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we may process personal data as described there, subject to applicable law and your available rights and choices.
15. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY WARRANTY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, OR SYSTEM INTEGRATION.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that defects will always be corrected.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of user content or third-party information.
- We do not guarantee that the Service will always be secure or free from interception, misuse, or malicious activity by third parties.
- We do not guarantee that moderation will identify every violation, prevent every harm, remove every unlawful statement, preserve every item of evidence, or satisfy every user's expectations.
- We do not guarantee that notifications, routes, alerts, lottery result notices, weather briefings, dengue alerts, transit alerts, or app updates will be delivered, timely, complete, or accurate.
- We do not guarantee that third-party providers, public data sources, Google Cloud Platform services, Microsoft Azure services, App Store systems, ad systems, location services, AI systems, or network services will be available, accurate, lawful in every jurisdiction, or error-free.
16. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
SUBJECT TO THE PRECEDING SENTENCE AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VOID DECK AND ITS OPERATORS, PERSONNEL, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, OPPORTUNITY, GOODWILL, DATA, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
- the total amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
- SGD 100.
17. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Void Deck and its operators, personnel, contractors, service providers, affiliates, successors, and assigns from claims, liabilities, losses, damages, penalties, investigations, demands, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, uploaded media, reports, account activity, misuse of the Service, reliance on information, breach of these Terms, violation of law, violation of third-party rights, use of third-party data, dispute with another user, or failure to obtain required permissions or consents.
18. Apple App Store Terms
- These Terms are between you and Void Deck, not Apple.
- Apple is not responsible for the Service, its content, maintenance, support, or claims relating to the Service except as required by law.
- To the extent applicable, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- Your use of the Service must also comply with the usage rules and other terms imposed by the App Store.
19. User Disputes and Third-Party Conduct
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, businesses, venues, service providers, public agencies, drivers, transport operators, merchants, advertisers, and third parties. Void Deck is not responsible for resolving disputes between users or between users and third parties, although we may take moderation or safety action where we consider it appropriate. You release Void Deck from claims arising out of other users' content, conduct, omissions, representations, or misuse of information to the maximum extent permitted by law.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
- Subject to applicable law, disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be submitted to the courts of Singapore.
- If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
21. General Terms
- Changes: We may update these Terms from time to time by posting the revised version. The updated Terms will take effect on or after the date specified in the revised version.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment: We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not assign your rights or obligations without our prior written consent.
- Force Majeure: We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, form the agreement between you and Void Deck regarding the Service.
- Interpretation: Examples in these Terms are illustrative and do not limit the broader wording. Words such as "including" mean "including without limitation".
- Survival: Sections relating to user responsibility, content licences, moderation records, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, dispute terms, and legal compliance survive account deletion, suspension, termination, or discontinued use.
